Thin Cornea Lasik
My brother is depressed …?
My brother just had Lasik Surgery but unfortunately there were complications, one eye is far-sighted and the other is near-sighted, because of a crap doctor. Now he has to get a second surgery, which may not guarantee perfect vision for him, since he has extreme astigmatism and his corneas are already so thin. I just feel so sad, he’s been crying for like days. I hope nothing serious bad happens to him. Is there anything I can do to help him… really help him ?
Thanks for all your answers …
Hun…the best you can do is pray. I’m sure the surgery will go fine. You just gotta believe that it will be okay. It’s really nice of you even putting up this question, showing you care so much for your brother. Just show confidence. Boost up your self – esteem. Instead of being worried, be happy. say…”i’m glad my brother is getting this little surgery. Everything is going to go fine. The doctor knows what he’s doing. if not, then he shouldn’t be a real pro doctor. He’s going to be fine, then he’ll have better sight and eyes.” Also, i’d just copnfort him. boost up his confedence. maybe buy him a little something. nothing huge. just a nice simple thing to show you care. or like, maybe get him a drink. just ask him if he wants to do anything. maybe ask if he wants anything to eat. then make it for him.
I will pray for you and your brother so everything goes good! ![]()
Besides, what the doctor has to do is what has to be done. unfortunately, life happens. but everything is gonna end up great! don’t worry.

I live outside Orlando Florida and my wife had this procedure, she was unable to see close and the sugery made her vision clear but right after the sugery for the next year she saw halos around lights but over all it was the best thing she did. cost was a little over $4000.00 but that was a couple years ago. talk to a qualified doctor and watch a few of them being done.. they let her watch a tv screen of actual sugeries as they were being done.. no real side affects either and you can see better right away.

Don’t think of Laser Eye Surgery(known as Refractive Surgery) at this age.Is your error is progressive or stationary? It depends on development of the body.Change in refraction ceases when body development ceases.I think the right age is 22-23.Meantime you can collect information from the patients who have undergone for such surgery. I do agree with ladydreamer.

I’m going to have it next year, as soon as I turn 18. I’m pretty much like you, -4.50. My uncle had it six months ago and now his sight is perfectly fine, never had problems. I hope it will be alright.
