Lasik And Floaters
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010floaters one year After Lasik?
I had lasik custom cornea over a year ago and have had floaters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floater) for the last 6 months.
The lasik doctor tries to convince me that the floaters are unrelated to the lasik and are caused by normal changes in my retina due to age – I don’t buy it.
What do you think?
You should believe your doctor. Floaters have NOTHING to do with LASIK. I had them before I got LASIK and I’ve had them after. Floaters are damaged cells in your eyes. When you bump your eye, or go straight from a dark room into the sun, rods and cones get damaged and that’s when you see floaters. The eventually go away when your body gets rid of them and the rods and cones regenerate so it’s nothing to worry about.
Your doctor was telling the truth.
