Should I Have Lasik Surgery

should i have lasik surgery
should i see the doctor after 2 years of Lasik Surgery?

i had lasik surgery 2 years ago and everything is perfect so i never went back to the doctor. still no problems but im just kinda thinking since im used to having my eyes checked every year since i was 9, whether i should have my eyes checked. If so, should I go to the same doctor who did My Lasik surgery or can i just have the doctors at pearle vision, where i pick up my contact lenses before, check my eyes ? thanks!

A person should have their eyes checked on a regular basis whether they have problems or not. Like going to the doctor’s for an annual physical whether you are sick or not or the dentist for a regular check up.

An optometrist can detect problems, you do not have to see an ophthalmologist or the doctor to who did your surgery.

I had lasik done 9 years ago, and I went from 20/250 vision and very bad astigmatism to 20/15 vision and no astigmatism. No side effects, and nothing’s changed in the past decade. The surgery itself is so cool you’re gonna wish you had done it years ago.

Actually you need to be at least 21, it is not a legal thing it is that you are still growing and so your vision is still changing. Some physicians may perform the procedure for you at your age but it would be unethical not to inform you that it may change again soon. As for the prices it varies. Depending on the physician, some treat rich people and are high profile thus costing more, more modest priced doctors are just as good, sometimes better. If you find one that you agree with their price do your homework. Find out if they have a unsatisfied patients and the percentage of them.

These are your eyes that were talking about. Make sure that you don’t go to one of those doctors that advertise $400.00 per eye. I found that most of the honest doctors are based in university settings. Why don’t you try to get a consult from a medical center in a university. The state that you leave in should have a medical board website, they show if any doctor is under a law suit. Check that out before you decide on a surgeon. Any questions about refractive surgery just ask. I’ll keep looking!!!!
