Second Lasik Eye Surgery

LASIK?” Anyone Rejected for this operation?
Twice now I Have taken my Mother for Lasik Surgery. The first one sent her to the eye Dr. Everything was OK, she was scheduled for the surgery, went there, prepped, drugged & ready to go, last Minute Dr. Said he couldnt do it. She prepaid $999.99 a special. We both were convinced he just didnt want to do it for that price.
Second Dr. Said she was too Far sighted & couldnt do her.
Has anyone else been rejected for this surgery? (Especially when its a special advertised price? Under $2000?
Any one evertold they were to Far sighteded? Or any Farsighted folks has had this procedure done?
This is frustrating.
Any comments will be helpful.
THANK YOU!!
LASIK has a corrective range of about 8 diopters for myopia, less than that for far-sightedness. They are correct that there are conditions that can halt a surgery from occuring. Also correct that some folks vision is just too far out of tolerances and that no LASIK will fix it. Understand why your eyesight is bad: the focal point is either infront of (near-sighted) or behind (far-sighted) the retina. All laser surgery does is to sculpt away part of the front of the lens in order to change the focal point. Someone who is too far out of tolerances means that no matter how much they carve into the lens, the focal point will never be correct (clear vision).
These drs are doing you a huge favor since you’d be uinhappy with the results, still need glasses after. Plus, just think, with really bad eyesight, they’d be removing most of the lens’ depth.
Not good, better to have healthy eyes and glasses than risk permanent damage.
