Laser Eye Surgery is actually something i am considering myself, i heard it is safe, and does last, also you have better vision after the treatment, the treatment only takes about 5 minutes or so, i know quite a few people that have had it done, and they love it! my friend just had it done and said i should go for it. The best thing to do is check out some web sites about it and also you could get a consultation for free, they will explain everything and will give you alot of info about it. Good Luck!

The first respondent is correct regarding wavefront and the other surgeries, what you need to do is see your optometrist for a screening and he will be able to tell which surgery is best for your needs. The is no ‘best’ each surgery is designed to fit specific needs, so you need to find out what yours are before ‘picking’ a surgery type.
