Pregnancy And Lasik

pregnancy and lasik
I had sex with a woman who used to have Chlamydia. Help!?

I did an incredibly stupid thing and had casual sex with a 31 year old woman I met off the interenet (I’m 22). To be safe I insisted on wearing a condom but once I had climaxed to my horror I noticed that the condom had fallen off! She said not to worry about pregnancy because she has had her ‘tubes tied’ but then she told me that she used to have Chlamydia but was cured of it and has been clear for two years.

I’m really worried now. Is there a chance I could have it? And if I do could it affect My Lasik eye surgery that I had a month ago? I know Chlamydia can do bad things to your eyes.

Thanks.

Go get tested. If she is cured of it then there is no chance she could have infected you, but better safe than sorry. And concerning your eye surgery chlamydia does cause eye problems, but that takes years of having the infection and not having it treated. So if it does turn out that you have it, it will not effect your eyes for several years and only if you don’t get it treated.

It is safe for most people. I know lots that have had great success. However, it is not recommended for everyone. If you corneas are flat you may not be a good candidate. I have a friend that the doc did not recommend having it done – went ahead anyway and the entire cornea came off during the surgery and had to be glued back on. Risking having to get a cornea transplant. They only did one eye. Too risky doing both of them. So 1 eye is adjusted and the other needs glasses. Be careful. It cost approx. $1,000 US per eye in Mid-Atlantic area.
