I can tell you what happened after my brother's and my lasik. For a few weeks our vision went back and forth being blurry in the left eye, then blurry in the right eye. It wasn't actually 20/20 until about 2 months after the surgery itself. We also had very dry eye so we had to use drops everyday. It's been 4 years since I had my surgery now, though, and my eyes are still perfect, no more drops needed, no problems encountered. If it's lasik or lasek you're talking about getting, they do several tests beforehand to make sure that you're a good candidate for it. I know a ton of people that have had it done without any complications.

No it is not painful at all. They give you medication to numb it before and after the process. As long as everything goes well (which it usually does) you should be fine. But you really should be at least 25 before even thinking about it. Because your vision stops changing as much. If you get it too young your eye sight might still end up changing again and you will still need a slight prescription. So it is better just to wait.
