Lasik Near Vision
Extreme near-sightedness help?
ok so, I’m 15 and my vision is TERRIBLE! I have not heard of a person who’s vision is worse than me. My eyesight is around -5.50 in both eyes. I really hate being so dependent on contacts and glasses. I want to do Lasik Eye Surgery but I’m too young. Can I have LASIK if I get my parent’s permission? Also, is there a point where your vision is too bad for surgery to help? My eyesight is getting worse and worse and I’m afraid I’ll eventually go blind if I don’t do something. I’m sooo embarresed by my near-sightedness, I feel blind. Help please?
You have moderate myopia. Lots of people have worse myopia than you.
You should be at least 18 and have not had an increase in myopia for two years to have LASIK. LASIK works up to about -7.00 to -9.00 depending on corneal thickness.
You cannot go blind from needing glasses, blindness is caused by disease or trauma.
Chill. There is no reason to be embarrassed. Be thankful that you can see well with glasses.
