Lasik Maryland
can i become a state police officer even though I wear glasses?
im 16 now but when i grow up i want to be a state police officer in maryland. ill go to college and study police science or criminal justice. but the problem is that i wear glasses. i heard that you have to have 20/20 vision uncorrected to be a state police officer, is that true? im going to Get Lasik later in my life tho. how old do you have to be to get lasik anyway?
I don’t know why you would need 20/20 uncorrected vision to be a cop. I would think you would need vision that IS correctable to 20/20 or better. Other wise they wouldn’t have very many people on the force as they get older. I think a lot of officers prefer to wear contact lenses so they can wear sunglasses.

My husband had it done about 4 years ago and he said that its the best thing that he’s ever done. The surgery was quick and they even let me watch through a window. His recovery was fast and the best part was that he could see without glasses or contacts. He’s never regretted it. You don’t need to worry about pain because there wasn’t any. It was costly, but then so was his contacts and supplies every year. If your thinking of doing this,…go for it. You’ll be glad you did.

If your eyes are dry you do NOT want to get Lasik Surgery. One of the side effects is dry eyes. It will make it worse.
