Lasik Dry Eyes How Long

How long before newly lasered eyes stop feeling dry?

I had my eyes lasered (Lasik With Intralase) 4 days ago. My vision is great but have noticed that no matter how often I put the ‘blink’ drops in, my eyes are feeling dryer and more tired every day. Is this a normal part of the healing process? I’m fine with it, if it is – but I’d like to know that there is an end in sight (forgive the pun).

Hi Sammy,

Congrats and well done. I had lasik with intralase done over a year ago – never looked back. I’m going for my final check up in two weeks time. As regards the dry eyes it does get better – four days is very close to the op. I found that after first two weeks it improved immensely. I still keep a bottle of the eye drops “somewhere” in the house but very very rarely use them.

I guess you’re enjoying the goggles(not) at night.

Good luck with healing process.

Eddie

You may have had the surgery at too young of an age. Your eyes have not stopped growing yet. Maybe you could get it done again, but it may be past the time it would be done for free. It is called an "enhancement", but it’s really the whole surgery all over again. I wouldnt worry about it, you already spent the money…..and are your eyes a lot better than they were originally before the surgery? Also, if it’s any consolation, because you’re becoming nearsighted again that means you probably won’t need reading glasses until a later age than normal…:)
