I just read an article of a police officer going blind from Lasikplus.?
My nephew is scheduled to have Lasik Eye Surgery at Lasikplus. I just read an article of a young police officer losing his vision after lasikplus. Me and my sister are freaking out. Has anyone had surgery at lasikplus? Is this a safe place for him to go?
Lasik laser surgery is very safe and effective if it’s done by a competent EENT surgeon who specializes in this field. Take for example; Jesssica Simpson. It was shown on TV. Downtime is minimal. It can be done under local anesthesia.
However, as with any other cosmetic surgery, it’s a good idea to seek out a board certified surgeon. This type of surgery involves precision and good coordination skills. It involves your eyesight; so it’s imperative to find the right and competent doctor.
The best way to discover the qualfications of the doctor is to find out if he’s board certified and how many of these cases has he performed. . And if he can provide you with references; i.e. former patients Ask a lot of questions..You wouldn’t want to go with a doctor with limited knowledge and skills.
My mother-in- had this done and she has poor peripheral eyesight in one eye. But this was done many, many yrs ago. Now, with more new modern methods and technology; I’m sure the safety standard has greatly improved.
