Laser Or Lasik

can lasik harm your eyes?
so im planning on getting lasik (Laser Eye Surgery) i just wanted to know if there is any stories out there of mistake on this surgery like people going blind or machine screwing up, im very scare something might go wrong and go blind. anybody knows?
This is a possibility, and it has happened, but be comforted to know that the risk is really really low and generally its not due to any problem with the procedure, its that someone programs in the wrong number.
Generally the very few issues which do occur are when preforming the procedure, the machine which slices open your cornea is supposed to leave a little flap to connect the slice to the rest of your cornea…but if it cuts all the way through they need to do surgery to reattach it. The reattachment procedure isnt terribly serious and you shouldnt sustain longterm eye injury from it though i can take a few months to heal. You can even get lasiks again after you heal though obviously many people choose not to.
But dont worry, again the procedure is almost always a good one and problems are really rare. If youre scared talk to you doctor about it and he will be able to show you the whole process and put your mind at ease. Good luck with it!
