Peel Police requirements?
Im aspiring to become a Peel police officer and i read over requirements and they say ” Possess vision which is no worse than 20/40 (6:12) both eyes
combined, and correctable to 20/20 (6:6). No degree of red/green
colour deficiency. You MUST be at least six months post-operative
of any vision correction surgery. *
what is 20/40? and since i wear glasses i`ll need eye surgery..tho i cant stand touching my eyes or wearing contacts. can anyone whos been in Laser Eye Surgery or knows about cops and such could you help me out?
please give details about what happens during the surgery…am i asleep? or drugged or what?
I had laser surgery to correct short sightedness.
I swear, it was absolutely painless. You are awake throughout and they only use a topical anaesthetic. The surgeon was telling me that the eye has very little feeling. The only thing touching the eye is a laser light.
I hope you go through with it and don’t let the apprehension stop you from pursuing a good career.

Your eyes need to be stable and for that you must be done growing. I believe you need to be over 18 years old. But everyone is different. Your eye doctor would be the best resource to know if you are ready for laser surgery.
