Laser Eye Surgery in thailand?
I want to get my vision corrected but can’t afford the expensive costs in the UK. In thailand the costs are half the price. Is it safe though? Or is there some way I can get it done on the national health?
You can not have it through National Health.
Laser eye surgery involves changing the shape of the cornea by burning it with laser and making it thin. The process is irreversible. It is wonderful if all goes well but it is a disaster if something goes wrong. Think carefully before proceeding.

My friend had it about 3 months ago…and its amazing! she has perfect vision now…she even spots things way before i do and my eyes are fine! It was very costly though, it depends on how badly your eyes are affected! If you are thinking about this as a solution…you can get a consultation for which they can assess you and its a very simple procedure, My friend was only in there for about 20mins, she didn’t even have time to take her jacket off!

I would say neither. Spend the dough and go to an optometrist and have the doctor refer you to a center. Retail centers recruit "sales oriented" doctors and want to encourage most people to have Lasik. They also very seldom talk about other surgical options with you because Lasik is quicker for them and doesn’t require as many follow ups. Do yourself a favor and make sure you don’t take any risks.

Keep in mind that with Lasik Surgery, the $400 per eye is a selling point, but it is often more than that, depending on various conditions including how bad his eyesight is. You can usually sign-up for a lifetime warranty that means he can go back if his eyesight deteriorates (they usually schedule yearly exams to keep the warranty valid) and they will correct anything needed. My fiance had it done and it went great for him, and his eyesight is really bad, plus now he is at a much lower risk of getting a detached retina from his eyesight worsening, as opposed to getting stronger glasses and contacts each year.
