I don’t fully understand my astigmatism…?
I was apparently born with it. and the doctor try to explain to a six year old (when i start wearing glasses) that my eyes where football shaped and should’ve been the shape of an egg-corn (however you spell it you get the picture) my eyeglass is extremely thick.
Can I wear contacts? like Acuvue Advanced for Astigmatisms?
What is Laser Eye Surgery like? does it hurt? how much is it? would it even help?
Astigmatism is VERY common. Many people with it can wear contacts, but many cannot. They only way to know is to talk to your doctor about your exact astigmatism.
Basically, your eye is supposed to be shaped like a ball, and it’s shaped more like a football. There is nothing wrong with it and it’s quite common, but it does affect the way you see.
You may or may not be a candidate for laser eye surgery, but you would have to be much older. My doctor won’t do it on a patient under the age of 25.
