I have a question reg. laser treatements of the retina?
If someone has weak or thin spots on the retina, I know they can be treated with lasers. Can anyone tell me what kind of laser they use? YAG? LASIK?
Also, can these treatments cause eye floaters? Are there any other dangers involved?

An Argon laser is used for retinal treatment – it penetrates much further than YAG or the ones used for LASIK.
There are dangers involved – but these should outweigh the risk of a retinal tear or detachment to make the surgery worth it.
You can get floaters after the op – just because the eye has been interfered with. That’s not a common problem though.

Research the topic *very* carefully before you make a decision. As we age, our eyesight also changes, so just bc you get that surgery doesn’t mean it will be clear sailing. There are also risks – so do a website search on risks of Laser Eye Surgery. IF…you decide to do it, then make sure you do it with no other than a cornea specialist at the best medical facility you can find. Cheaper is not best when it comes to our eyes. As for me, I stick with glasses or contacts.
Technically, you "could", but I don’t think a responsible eye surgeon would do so, since you may end up needing glasses when they change, thus defeating the surgery. So if you find a surgeon who is willing, I would not do so, since you may need glasses again, and adding the risks of the procedure to it, it would not be worth it.

So if you find a surgeon who is willing, I would not do so, since you may need glasses again, and adding the risks of the procedure to it, it would not be worth it.

In the US you have to legally be 18. Most Dr.s want you to be over 20. So, you are too young.
